Got some leftover coca cola ham, going to fry it up and make some garlic and paprika potato wedges and green beans with it. Fuck it, I’m doing it now.

Gonna do pork belly with leeks, cabbage and either roast or dauphinoise pots.

Strudel and custard for pudding.

Going to make slow cooked duck legs. Pudding will be many, many peanut butter cookies

Had roast chicken last night, so going to use the rest of it later in a Spanish style thing with chickpeas, chorizo, peppers, tomatoes, paprika. That kind of thing. Having it with rice because there’s no cous cous

Not sure what is for dinner but sute it will be boring.

Would make crumble but only have pears and not sure how good they would be for it… any good pear deserts that require very basic ingredients? Maybe I could fashion some sort of pear upside down cake

Everyones food sounds so good

Wish I could visit and eat each and every dish

Gf has got a Cuban feast cooking. It smells so good. Although I’ve just been sent out to get bacon lardons for her black beans dish

I always want to eat what you’re cooking, Marty! :hugs:

What flavour strude?
Love strudel!

Pear upside down cake sounds good! I was going to suggest some sort of simple sponge/cakey thing, I’m sure a pear crumble would work too though! Let us know what you end up doing

Like I’ve said, I only mention the nice sounding ones. I miss out a lot of days where we have super noodles on toast or something.

Peas not beans, and stuck an egg on there too. Not bad, not bad at all.

They really were!

Perhaps we can start a movement for the abolishment of the Sunday dinner and its replacement with the much more sensible Saturday dinner. That way you can drift easily through the impending working week dread of a Sunday without the hassle of a big cook to do and the safe knowledge that you’ve got tasty leftovers for the evening.

And you can also get hammered after your Saturday roast.

Nah.
I love spending hours in the kitchen on a Sunday with my TV, listening to music and getting gently sloshed while we cook up a feast and our lunch lunches for the week.
A roast chicken on a Saturday is a lovely treat though, but I’d probably serve it with different sides.
If you cba you can always go out or order delivery. It’s Sunday! Treat yo’self

I roast every day of the week. Though Saturday roast did mean I got to spend all day today making stock, it’s well tasty right now

We have nothing in the fridge so fear it might be a carryout/takeaway and there’s nothing I’m really crying out for. Also I eat too much shite. So it’ll be the worst possible combination, a carryout I don’t particularly want that I definitely can’t afford (big belly and health wise).

But you never know it might be one of those surprise ones that unexpectedly really hits the spot.

Not really following your logic here. My point was that it’s exactly the same experience on a Saturday, only with the added benefit of a ready made Sunday meal (and @badcustard’s stock-making opportunities). In both cases I have a meal ready for Sunday so the takeaway option is redundant. In any case a Sunday takeaway is a bit too much like the last meal for the condemned. (Friday is the correct takeaway answer)

Saturday roast is the future. We’re in the age of the information superhighway now.
