We don’t really have an MMA thread so posting this here

Feeling quite melancholic this weekend after basing my plans around the UFC last night and the heavy way it ended (Khabib Nurmagomedov, mourning the death of his father, broke town in tears alone in the centre of the mat after winning and then eventually announced his retirement to honour his mother’s wishes that he not fight without his father as his coach)

It’s been such a rare spectacle to have somebody from an isolated culture (Dagestani) with very un-Western values and aversion to fame become such a central figure in a popular sport by sheer brute force and talent (he obliterated his opponent last night, who’s one of the toughest fighters on the planet)

Going to go for a walk whilst it’s at least sunshine and showers, rather than full on rain. Probably pick up lunch from the makers market too.

The kid painted this earlier then insisted on adding all the goggly eyes. I don’t know how she knows what I see when I’m asleep but I don’t like it.

Had the strangest dream that an interior designer came into my flat and verbally tore it all to shreds.

We’ve been for a round of dinosaur crazy golf (successfully avoiding the rain). The Child has been lead to believe the pencil and scorecard are her prizes for winning.

Wor Lass has apparently put her back out trying to pick her daughter up. The last time she did something like this she was off work for three months so I’m channelling all of my positive thoughts.

I think we’re having steak pie later.

Had a lie in until 11, which actually turned out to be 10, so that was nice.

The rain’s stopped and the suns come out, so I think a walk is on the cards once I’ve washed up the breakfast things. Roast dinner later, woo.

Morning

I dreamt I met and was making out with a beautiful woman but I was at a work thing and we had to quickly put our clothes that we’d been taking off back on then a bit later we managed to meet back up, grabbed each others hands and were about to go sneak off together but I woke up :sob:

I feel sad now :cry:
