ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I don’t want a neatly ordered system in a pub. I like the slight sense of disorder. I like the bar staff to determine who gets served next whether you think it should be you or not. I don’t want too many rules in pubs.

(Yes agree they are good pizzas)

I’ve gotten the occasional tactical lunchtime samosa from them but that’s it.

If it is a two way street then nothing but if somebody wants you to have to queue for a stinky bacon joint twice a week i want about £350.

This guy has a Tesco discount card so the guy is paying £4 for his joint which is RRP but this lad gets it for £3.60.

Is this a euphemism for the runs?

I can’t recall the last time I got anything from those such things. Maybe a bit of fish from the fish bit but that would have been at least 5 years ago.

It is not.

We did the same on sunday, went to morrisons and got one of the freshly made up pizzas. Well two actually. Whole thing came to £8.

If I can’t get the right kinds of steak and I don’t have time to try an actual butchers then I’ll use the in-store butcher. Also sometimes if I need a specific cheese (taleggio is more widely available now but for ages I could only get it from behind the counter.)

I got some squid from Waitrose the other day at a fresh counter, fact/fish fans

I believe @anon5266188 is a big cephalopod fan.

I actually hate them

I guess if you spun a squid from it’s body it would make do as a rudimentary fan.

When we lived in Forest Hill we’d use the one in the big Sainsbos there quite a bit. Olives, nice bits of ham, some cheese. Mmm. Now that you mention it, though, I do not miss it.

Your average Mozzbos has an excellent fresh fish counter. Other than that, not really. Lucky enough to live near a good butcher for when I want something decent.

“oh hey, look at this guy, he doesn’t know how much stuff weighs! hahahahahaha”

Was planning a thread today on approximate percentages of cheese purchased from:

  • in store supermarket cheese mongers
  • independent cheese mongers/makers
  • big brand cheese
  • supermarket own brand
  • supermarket premium brand

Decided against it in the end

I’m afraid I got it at the fresh fish counter, not the fresh cephalopod counter and I don’t think Waitrose would lie to me so it’s likely that you’re incorrect

What about non-supermarket, non-cheesemonger cheese suppliers? Delis and the like.

(is this why you decided against it?)
