I’ve always thought there is a joke somewhere in superseeded sounding like superseded but I’ve never been able to land it

usually go through the entire shelf of meat inspecting cuts for optimal fat content before I make my choice.

Will turn down any packet of anything that feels as though it has more air than is necessary. Nightmare for this. Also lift up crates for longer shelf life products. I try to leave everything tidy but shop workers probably hate me.

GUYS!

It looks like we might have a new POTW champion - Kermit has been superseeded!

At the supermarket?

Just bread. Probably a bit too much. At what does your squeezing of barm cakes become fetishistic to casual onlookers?

When was the last time a cashier checked your eggs?

  • Oh, it’s been years since they felt up my eggs!!
  • Very recently actually
  • Now and then
  • Actually I think I’m quite capable of checking these eggs myself actually so stop touching them and being overbearing and cloying and treat me like the adult I am

Canned goods

It can be hard to find a damaged one to get on the cheap so usually I just take the ones I want off the regular shelf and smash them off my shopping basket a few times, take them to customer services, receive an apology and only pay two thirds of the price.

Occasionally the Ocado driver checks them, can’t recall ever seeing someone on a checkout give them the once over though.
For the record, the correct method is to check the bottom of the box for evidence of leaks and then open the box to check the top of yer eggs.

The one real drawback from getting your shopping delivered is that you can’t pick the veg, fruit, meat that you like the look of. It’s usually fine, but do get the odd shit pick thrown in.

You’re the reason i end up with smooshed baked goods aren’t you?

Must admit I don’t get fresh food delivered for this reason (other than spuds). Just tend to order stuff you don’t need to check (tins, pasta, bog roll, etc).

If I was working for minimum wage at a supermarket doing people’s online orders I would definitely take the piss with what I swap stuff out for.

Used to do home delivery for Asda and some of the subs were great - no coleslaw, so they’d sub the constituent ingredients in instead; a kids toy watering can because the real one was out of stock

They’d always snap the French sticks in half so they’d fit in the totes too. Always felt really embarrassed handing that over to customers.

Absolute shambles of an operation, I’m amazed anyone orders groceries from them, Sainsbos, Tescos or Waitrose’s. Bunch of clowns.

liderally, nothing.

Always squeeze the bread for sponginess.

My wife likes bananas that are just the yellow side of green, I like them when they’re just the yellow side of brown. My banana intake depends on hers, really.

Mixed peppers - I’m happy to take small green, yellow or orange ones as long as the red one is biggest in the pack.
