Prefer Yellow Swans.
found it a bit weird when they were announced for ArcTanGent tbh but i guess there’s shitloads of musicians with accusations against them still making a living
Not sure if it’s anything to do with the accusations being withdrawn?
fair i wasn’t aware of that
Yeah, there was a definite scene in that period of pushing things to extremes and it tended to marry into an obsession with the industrial too. Obviously the music genre spawned with the same name but then you’ve got Cronenberg and Tetsuo: Iron Man, a whole heap of visual artists and William Gibson, Clive Barker etc. It does seem to have dissipated in the years since but as we head back to some of the struggles of the 80s, maybe that kind of music will rise again.
I guess of course that there are still plenty of artists doing all that stuff, maybe they’re just happy on the margins or much more likely I got old.
Never knew what to think about that accusation. Grimm eventually took the post down and her bandmate shared some pretty harsh words about her.
All the newer albums are far too long, gave up after The Seer
Fucking dicks, think they’re all that and been letting geese take all the flack for decades
Wrong board sorry
Love 90’s Swans (mostly) Haven’t liked any of the reformation stuff.
Probably the best band I have seen live. Looking forward to the new album.
Pretty much the same…wanted The Seer to sink in before I moved on to others but I haven’t listened to it enough times for that to happen. Too long.
Love most of their longer post reformation stuff really hits the spot for me which is odd cos I normally prefer short punchy albums.
Would almost never put an album on. It’s a cliche, but it really is music to experience live.
Just bought tickets to see them in Manchester and Leeds. Cannot wait.
Yeah this. When The Seer and the one after came out I had a roughly 40 min door to desk commute so I rinsed the album twice every 3 days and really go onto it
The one time I saw them I was on a healthy dose of psychedelics and was completely enraptured (could’ve gone seriously wrong though, now I think about it!). That amazing experimental cellist supported as well (can’t remember her name now). It really was an experience!
