T in the Park - cancelled

T in the Bin more like.

I worked as a steward at Titp a couple of times about 10 years ago, always enjoyed it. Is it terrible now or something? (yes)

I went about ten years ago and thought it was terrible then. Had an absolutely awful atmosphere, and I say that as someone who was used to Reading.

I’ve seen rumours that it’ll be back as a city festival, on Glasgow Green. No camping, different name.

Where will people see Feeder, Stereophonics and the Killers now?

I enjoyed the atmosphere: wheely bins full of Tennents, open disregard for using portaloos, that kind of thing. I was working there so I got to camp in a secure bit away from everyone else, which made a difference I suppose

been a fair bit of stuff going around about Police Scotland trying to kill off festivals. they’ve massively hiked charges to small festivals in Dumfries and Galloway despite their being no notable incidents or issues outside the normal stuff. no idea if this is relevant to the story here or not.

At Reading (providing they don’t replace Pendulum)

I remember a Planet Sound report one year where there were massive traffic issues heading to the site and the writer saying it felt like a Lord of the Flies scenario being stuck on a bus with everyone going nuts

Where will people avoid being bored by LCD Sound System now?

At V Festival, of course.

Went 10 years ago when The Strokes headlined. Had all our stuff nicked from the tent. Great times.

Use to be a great festival, then became overrun by bams, fucking brutal now. And absolutely fuck camping there

Always had a strong dance tent line up. (Not even on TITPBook)

It has been a Legal High Bam Fest for a good decade now

Went in 2001, wona comp on the Evening Session to have a tour bus drive you there and stay on said tour bus. It was the first time I ever heard that “We’re not fucking going” chant and it still haunts me to this day.

Going to miss all the BANTER at T in the Park. This is what it’s all about.

Doubt I would have ever went back, because (as already mentioned) it’s got a bit daft over the last few years, but saw some great performances there (in particular when Brian Wilson headlined the Pet Sounds tent, which was incredible).

Got about 30 seconds into that before turning off

You made it 30 seconds? Strong work man, you must be a glutton for punishment! haha.
