Tell me about Lisbon

^ this but in 3 months. those ryanair prices are hard to ignore huh?

oh actually i went to lisbon before. basically mojitos in large mcdonalds soft drink sizes, cherry liquor, hills, no, i don’t wanna buy drugs, castle, fado, fish, obrigado. would go again, after the time i’m going again.

It’s worth going just to spend 2-3 days in Alfama (the hilly, car-less old town). I didn’t go to Sintra, but everyone i know who has been has said it’s beautiful. The rest of it, the more modern parts, etc, are at best okay.

Struck me as being the perfect place for a long weekend, but a bit too boring for much longer.

Go to the time out market / food court it is Great

Preferred Manteigaria in Bairro Alto to Pasteis de Belem, it’s much smaller and much less of a tourist trap. The tarts are amazing, their kitchen is open too so you can watch them being made.

Would recommend the bar on the multi-storey car park as well (which is possibly just called car park bar).

The time out food market as mentioned above. Place called wines of Portugal on the main square.
Pharmacy museum and it’s pharmacy themed restaurant.
Good city for just wandering around.

Check out The Best Toilet In The World too. Well worth the 1eur

I went to Lisbon once and sat in the place which google maps tells me is called the View Point of Santa Catarina and there were lots of people there who wanted me to buy stuff of them and I didn’t really want to buy it and I drank some beer there too.

gin bar & tapas restaurant: (or whatever portuguese tapas is called)

I thought the guys selling drugs we’re alright, they were happy to accept a no, one had the audacity to offer me viagra after I’d declined weed and we both laughed.

great bunch o’ drug dealers

If you go to the Paula Rego museum up in cascais, there’s a nice park:

and a nice walk along the coast here, the sun was going down when we were here so it was all lovely:

Belem is on the way here, so you could do both in a day easily enough if you wanted and get those gorgeous tarts. I nearly asphyxiated myself on the cinnamon in the little pouch they give you.
