Tell me things please.

The Go Turkiye instagram is so great for highlighting some beautiful places. Would love to go see all the proper history nerd stuff eventually.
It’s the only tourism account i follow so maybe have a browse for some inspiration
I didn’t love Istanbul, too busy for me. I travelled to Antalya afterwards and preferred it because there were beaches/places to swim in the ocean.
Hope this helps
A very dry meat
You’ve got to sass it
I found Istanbul to be one of the most fascinating and vibrant cities I’ve visited when I went there for a few days. Basically did all the obvious tourist bits in Sultanahmet and that didn’t come close to scratching the surface. Would like to go back tbh.
Can echo that Istanbul is an amazing city full of history, cultural, great food, glorious vistas and the contrast of east meets west. Spend as much time as you can there. Was out there before Erdoğan took power, mind, so I don’t know what it’s like there now. I was fortunate enough to go before Hagia Sophia was converted back to a mosque, highlighting the lurch to Erdoğan’s brand of religious nationalism since then.
Turkey: an oft maligned meat
Turkiye: great place to store your bed sheets.
