On my forth day at this job, I got stranded due to a storm and had to find a nearby youth hostel to sleep in. I managed to get some new socks from Albert Heijn for the next day, and some shower gel, but they weren’t selling pants so I just had to reverse them, something I don’t enjoy having to do.

Anyway, the pants bit isn’t really relevant here, not sure why I mentioned it, but since I regularly head places straight from work, I like to have stuff here that I can use to freshen up.

Have has to do this a couple of times for bo. 2 of the hardest conversations I’ve had to have. Mainly because it’s not their ability to do the job being questioned and it’s an incredibly personal thing.

Yes.

Did it away from colleagues and strictly one-on-one. Didn’t make a big deal out of it and said it was just a friendly heads-up. And they appreciated it because they didn’t know.

I’ve been in places where people stank and no-one said anything to their face, instead just bitching behind their backs. They weren’t great environments to work.

Just checked. Coffee dries the mouth and milk can contribute to the smell. It’s the perfect, smelly storm

If it was me i’d want to be told straight but one-on-one. Depends how well you get on with the person, doesn’t it? If it was someone i knew well it would be a much easier conversation to have either way. The tricky bit’s if it’s someone who you’re not mates with.
