No fucking way are Raging Speedhorn still going…
saw them last year!
I feel like this might be a bit of a ‘crash’ year for a lot of festivals. So much terrible crossover with the
same indie bands, poor headliners, unimaginative booking, expensive tickets.
If it thins these type of events out it can only be a good thing probably.
That’s my mate’s band Anthrax. Released an EP way back when on Crass Records called Capitalism Is Cannibalism which is excellent.
I’m kinda surprised they haven’t already tbh
I’m looking at that line-up with absolute bemusement. It’s sort of shit, but at the same time there’s something for everyone. I can’t decide whether it’d be my worst nightmare or a relatively enjoyable weekend.
Dear me… That line up is a peach.
Fine this one really. It’s stodgy but there’s quite a few interesting things.
I saw Back To The Planet at a Levellers after show party a few years back. Was good fun. They came onstage around 1am and were noticeably more hammered than the extremely hammered crowd ![]()
one in the OP looks quite fun tbf. would probably spend most of my time in the Dance tents dancing and not having to worry about being old enough to be all the girls’ dad.
This really is the year of Basement Jaxx (DJ Set) isn’t it? Do Basement Jaxx/Cast/Starsailor’s booking agents just go “yes they’ll do anything this year”?
GLC legends set ![]()
I have a friend who would almost certainly go to this festival just for that alone. I’m not going to tell him and subject him to the rest of that lineup.
What bugs me about this Britpop festival thing is that there were some great bands and many terrible ones. I always thought The Bluetones were great, but these days they’re hitching themselves to pretty much any bill that’ll have them. I get why they do it, I just wish that they (and a select few others) still existed on a level where they could just carry on in their own right…
Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5 has done me. What a great band name.
You see legions of mustard coloured hoodies at any Scottish festival, they’ve got a weird cult following up here. They’re absolutely terrible.
tickets: Gary’s barber Shop
20 years ago it would have been the local ‘60s night’.
A Courteeners tribute band? Dear me.
