Re-watched this on Saturday night too. There are a few scenes that are a little cringeworthy now (though probably no more so than other films of a similar type from the same era?), but I also enjoyed it.

I think the “you get two boring stories for the price of one” strain of criticism it seems to attract rather misses the point.
