The message doesn’t bounce, the reply doesn’t appear, it just doesn’t work.
This is a feature, not a bug - reply by email is disabled, and I doubt we’ll be setting it up in the short term.
Is there something on the emails that suggests you can reply to them?
Makes sense, it’s a shit feature. Just that it’s still one of the available badges.

I’ve used the ‘reply by email’ function on occasion, yes.
Not all that often, to be fair. But, for what it’s worth, I like it as a function.
Sometimes useful when signal or connection quality is low. Sometimes when you want to fire a quick acknowledgement or answer back into a thread when summoned, without getting more involved.

It’s possible we enable it in the future, but there’s a bit of work to do to get it working so good to know it’s not a must have for you
