That self-titled Blue Roses LP from 2009 was absolutely sensational in hindsight...

Just played it for the first time in years. Wonderful record. Clearly quite Newsom-influenced, but the songs are brilliant in their own right.

The new stuff’s not really grabbing me, but hope it does well. She’s a real talent.

It’s a beaut for sure. Not anything revolutionary, but with songs like those who cares. I Wish I… has always been a standout for me.

The new album opened out for me in the second half - it does reward repeat listens, but yeah I’m not sure it’ll take hold like Blue Roses.

Bought it for £1 a couple of years after it came out and I’ve listened to it about twice ever

I remember it being quite nice so not sure why I never really went back to it
