Heh

15 minutes into Jupiter Ascending and I be like

This is terrible
What is happening
MILA KUNIS!

Bit shaken up by LADY MACBETH. It’s so good - amazing central performance and the sound as everyone has said is so lush.

Also, Sebastian was :eggplant::eggplant::eggplant:

I couldn’t work out if he was handsome or not. I’ll bow to you on that one.

Miss Sloane - Too trashy to be serious and good, not trashy enough to be really fun but a 6/10 as it’s the sort of thing that I like anyway. Chastain was good but only if you buy into her performance being a performance in and of itself, my gf came away saying she was one of the worst actors she’d seen in a long time and I can kind of half see why given the stilted delivery of a lot of her (quite bad) dialogue. Moderately fun though which is more than you can say for…

Alien: Covenant - What a load of po-faced shit. Almost to an impressive degree, I half want to watch Prometheus now tbh. The recorder scene made me absolutely lose it though, probably the most I’ve laughed in a cinema for a very long time so it’s got that going for it.

Alien: Covenant
FFS.
Had a cheeky day off work, a nice lunch, and it was my first IMAX viewing, and the prospect of a post film pint awaited - that alone probably earned it a 5 before it had even started. It was all over the shop. I also want to rewatch Prometheus as I had more or less erased that film from my memory. It was just all over the place. Can’t remember a single characters name aside from Fassbender’s and comedian mullet guy, wasn’t scary, didn’t leverage any of the stuff that was cool/scary about the first films even though they could have done.
Overall - 5.1

Might start a change.org petition to stop Ridley Scott making anymore Alien films.

That just made me… annoyed. Very annoyed. That was the point I Googled the films running time and checked what else was on at the Odeon.

The reviews have been pretty positive from what I’ve read too.

Annoyed.

watched GOTG II

was fine. the soundtrack was well annoying though, instead of just having crap rock every now and again it was shoehorned in to every single moment.

Graduation

Really really good.

Finally watched Carol. Lovely film. The way it sounded, looked. It just made me happy that these days every film released doesn’t have to have 20ft robots punching each other to the sound of dubstep whilst women in bikins run around screaming whilst some idiot has to save the earth.

UPDATE I’ve just sold this film idea to Michael Bay for a six-figure sum.

Also, it’s nice to have a LGBT-related couple in TV and film who have a happy ending/don’t wind up dying

watched for the first time… Sunshine (2007)

feel like this is underrated and definitely seems to have aged well. Really tense, and despite being largely unknown actors (apart from Cillian Murphy and Rose Byrne), the characters each leave their mark. Was vaguely aware of the shift in tone at one point but even that didn’t bother me as much as i feared it may

I’m sorry but this mangod is not “unknown”

I’ve got so much love for this film. I think the back third could have been handled slightly better but it’s still one of my favourite recent-ish sci fi films.

Also that soundtrack:
