Hook-Hausen was decent craic and had a bit of momentum, he’s great with a straight man like pouty Hook, but Tony pivoted for no reason
Putting him with Orange Cassidy was a misstep, being such a gimmick of its own, it was just a hat on a hat and diluted both. But then Danhausen demanded to wrestle more on a show already overloaded with workers, and then ofc broke his leg & pec and spent 2+ years in purgatory. Glad he’s getting a proper shake now.
That being said there’s a definite double standard with Cornette and all the podcasters, when Danhausen was in aew the same shtick was widely chastised as low-rent Chikara indie buffoonery and now it’s comedy genius.
Hope it’s ok I divert the conversation slightly. Debating getting a couple of tickets for All In. Wonder if anyone that was at the previous Wembley show has any insight as to the quality of the view from the affordable seats that are remaining please? Looking at not quite the upper tier but the one in front of that. Any advice/thoughts welcomed. Thanks
As in the middle tier which is usually “Club Wembley”? Reckon you’ll be largely good as thats generally the posh seats if so, have you got a screengrab of whats left out of interest/where youre thinking?
My general advice would be to avoid the corners because theres big pillars which cut off a chunk of the ring, went the first year and got the upper tier second cheapest tickets which were closer but obscured view, ended up moving round to the cheapest seats a few matches in because while further away it was an unobstructed view!
I’m sure he’s good but I’m sorry Callum Newman looks like an itty bitty tiny baby boy who’s nicked his grandma’s coat. Whole crew looked low rent as it comes. Made New Japan look absolute garbage to have him as champ tbh.
That is exactly how I felt when he first started doing more regular heavyweight stuff in NJPW in the G1 etc but he has progressed to an insane degree over the last couple years but appreciate he’s probably starting all over again to that original point to a new audience
I mean, this is exactly what happened really innit. Will Ospreay turned his back for five minutes (2years) and little Callum Newman saw what a bunch of absolute jobbers United Empire were and thought ‘I can be leader’ and so he took it from Will Ospreay and now Will is back he is indulging his fantasy like any good grandparent would. Callum just also happens to be IWGP Heavyweight Champion now.
