It’s like the “Bands no one has thought about for ages” thread has become self aware and tried to write about itself.

CYHSY woz robbed
Funny as I was well into so much music then, playing and going to gigs, buying records stupidly and I’ve heard of about three of these. Dunno what my point is. There’s lots of music maybe
So if I’m understanding this right GADPY stands for Grizzly Bear Animal Collective Dirty Projectors Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Good lord.
Yeah this just sounds like peak Pitchforkcore.
This run down is Championship level PF stuff. All 7.0-8.4.
Premier League PF would be the stuff they culled - AC, Girls, DProjectors - all the 8.5+ stuff.
Yeah, I’d be in Camden or Shoreditch about 3 times a week for gigs and getting sent dozens of promos a week for student magazine stuff for some of this time and basically know none of this other than Sleigh Bells (who I’d say don’t belong on the list but how would I know) and Los Campesinos.
Worth reading that to remind myself of Le Loup – The Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations’ Millennium General Assembly - listening to it again now. Gotta love that Sufjan + The Books sound.
That article annoyed me by listing the band’s in a different order to GADPY, which meant it took me way too long to try and figure out what GADPY stood for.
Yeah this is fine, and about right. CYHSY was definitely robbed, though, and I feel like Spinto Band getting missed out is a bit unfair on the poor lambs
I was too cool for this stuff.
Came out in 2014 so too late for ‘blog rock’ but a nice reminder of seeing their name that made me remenisce about how ‘Lose’ by Cymbals Eat Guitars is one of my favourite albums of all time that I regularly forget exists until I see their name somewhere

don’t know what corner of the internet I was hiding in because I’ve never heard of any of these bands.
Black Kids? yikes
If this wasn’t centered around the late 00s I’d say it should be called GrAnDPappY rock, not blog rock.
Definitely remember them getting decent run in the NME, alongside Operator Please and the Black Lips, who have very little in common, just all linked in my head somewhat due to when they were around.
