Homer’s Enemy or the bypass episode probably!

The thing that annoys me the most right, is that Channel 4 knows which ones are the good ones, because they broadcast seasons 10 onward mostly on weeknights/all the flipping time and then save anything watchable for weekends or bank holidays. WHY IS GOOD SIMPSONS A TREAT ONLY? WHY?!

Take tonight, they’ve got a double bill on because Hollyoaks can’t make anything new. What do they give us in this dark time of need? Season 20. So terrible.

Nearly finished my tour of Zombie Simpsons - 2 more discs of S15 to go. That’s the end of my DVD collection, and I don’t think I’ve got the stamina to buy any more seasons, even at a fiver second hand. I skipped the “Evita” parody episode because there’s only so much I can take, and I’d forgotten just how utterly, execrably appalling “The Regina Monologues” was. Last night brought an episode I genuinely hadn’t seen before - the one where Marge tells the kids history lessons in that ‘3 old stories acted by the cast’ style. It wasn’t dreadful.

Anyway, what should I rewatch next?

  • Futurama (S1-S4)
  • King of the Hill (S1-S5)
  • Count Duckula (all of it)
  • Red Dwarf (I-VI)

I like your style, but I only own S1-S5

(perhaps I should change that)

Definitely worth getting it all if you can. So, so good.

I think everything past S3 is going to be a first time watch as well - I bought S4 and S5 second hand for buttons a while back but never got round to viewing

Does get a bit samey after about S6 but there’s enough absolute gold in there all the way through.

Currently reminded of this wonderfulness:

I’m watching Homer’s Barbershop Quartet and there’s a scene where Santa’s Little Helper buries the head of the Homer doll that Marge made in the back yard. But Bart and Lisa are much younger in that episode and they won’t have a dog yet.

Have people seen this before?

(Bill Oakley has denied it and said it’s most likely an animation error)

Homer still has his hair on top when he plays krusty in the clown college episode

Yeah it is a weird mix of the two though

Tend to watch sitcoms in the morning (even before this started cos I only had a 15 minute walk to work), I finished the US Office a few weeks go and have just been watching random Futurama episodes trying to work out what to do next.

ANYWAY I already have seasons 2, 4 and 5 of King of the Hill on DVD, so I’ve this morning ordered 1 and 3 from the Internet, so I guess that is next  Quite excited, I saw loads of the early seasons back in the day on channel 4 and then obvs rewatched these DVDs at some point but there’s going to be loads I’ve never seen. And now I’ve got like 100 episodes to get through and we may even be out of lockdown by the time I get through those and have to buy some more!

(Although season 2 disc 1 has gone missing?!? Faff)

Yeah I bought a couple initially out of nostalgia then ended up getting the whole 13 seasons. It’s so fucking good. Lot of the same team as the office too.
