NJPW: Shingo is Heavyweight champion. Wish they had just gone with him winning the cup and title originally tbh but I am pretty excited for this. Cobb/Ibushi was also very good.

Yeah I prefer not to use my laptop at all, just a faff connecting it to the tv - but yeah hopefully YouTube at some point, it’s always really easy to find a decent dark side of the ring rip on there but not this for some reason.

Fair play, I did not see that coming. Giving it to Okada to steady the ship made all the sense in the world but I’m really pleased Shingo won instead. I hope he stays fit and has a good run. We don’t need any more surprise champions for a while.

Up and coming is probably pushing it a bit at 38, and having been Dragon Gate’s biggest heel for years, winning 4 Open the Dream Gate Championships he has had a bit of a run at the top before. He might actually be a much safer pair of hands than people might think, especially since Okada is still an injury risk with his back and just had COVID. Seems like the sensible choice on balance to me. Fresh face for NJPW with decent experience and without the condition risks that would come with sticking it on Okada. I am also a big fan which is obviously much more important
