Forgot about this thread…

Anyway yeah, as I said in the general TV thread it feels like they’ve Riverdale’d the second season of Sabrina, based on first 3-4 episodes. Basically got rid of all the mysticism and creepiness of the first season, half the characterisation, and just made it a straight up relationship-based tv show for teens (which it really wasn’t before). Plotting seems to make about as much sense as Riverdale too.

Still not sure whether I actually like this series (sabrina) or whether I just want to like it, can’t remember if season 1 was good or not.

One thing that I don’t think really works is how muddled it is when it comes to the nature of witchcraft, on the one hand they are people with an alternative belief system and it depicts their persecuted history, on the other hand they do seem pretty bad, eating corpses from the funeral home, having to serve Satan and do bad things if required, it’s not like it is some rejecting religious morality in favour of pursuing free will type Satan it’s an outright evil one, not sure how they will reconcile that

Nah season 1 was actually good, not just ‘entertaining fluff’ or whatever.

Only 3 episodes in so, y’know… I’ll give it time, but it doesn’t really feel like the same show so far.

Seen a couple of episodes, generally preferring it to S2 but fucking hell the musical bits are so bad and so out of keeping with the entire aesthetic of the show. There’s no way the exec producers haven’t made them do it cos they think it’s part of their signature #branding

Only a couple of episodes in, could do without the trying to find blackheart stuff. Didn’t twig it was the dopey one from coupling though until they found him in Scotland

You mean Sabrina? I thought this season started out like it could be ok except for the musical interludes, but it’s quickly become clear they’re going for the 13-16 year-old market (because obviously 13-16 year-olds are interested in nothing but love triangles). Season 1 wasn’t like that, so I was giving it a second chance.

Anyway I’ve stopped watching it now.

dont see how they are going to land this jughead storyline, and dont trust them to even bother to go back and explain what went down. what could have happened, the gang thought he was dead, hid his body, decided to find his body was it at that point they realised he was still alive, stupid even by riverdale standards. also such a stupid storyline, if jughead is alive he could just tell the police who tried to kill him, no need to smoke out the private school kids, stupid even by riverdale standards
