oh shit it was that guy. got it. that story still blows my mind

[75]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_O’Mara#cite_note-75) On 23 July 2019, Gareth Arnold, a member of O’Mara’s communications team, took to the latter’s Twitter account to publicly resign and voice his concerns about the MP.[76][77] Arnold said that O’Mara was "the most disgustingly morally bankrupt person [he had] ever had the displeasure of working with" and had shown ā€œinexcusable contemptā€ for his constituents.

Maybe, dunno, reading this wikipedia article just gets worse and worse. It turns out they were both arrested on suspicion of expenses fraud, there’s abuse allegations in there, just a horrendous shit show on all fronts

If I’ve picked the right one, I can assure you it’s purely by accident.

Fun fact of the day that I’ve just discovered. Balls and Davey went to the same school. Which is also the same school that my wife and my mum went to (I already knew that bit).

It’s okay, you’ve proven you’re no coward.

Sir Steir Karmer

Ed Davey - it’s all gravy!

They can have that one, pop it on the back of their skills wallets

Can’t really fathom how Morgan got such a trouncing, she’s a breath of fresh air and a much better orator imho.

didn’t realise their active membership was so pitifully small either

I was going to ask about this, but forgot rather than out of fear of Lib Dem related opprobrium, but inasmuch as I’ve noticed her she seemed like a decent sort.

Private school, Oxford…

She is very much in the Charles Kennedy tradition of the party, and the bulk of the membership is now Orange Book die-hards, even if most of the architects of that have been toppled from senior positions.

He looks like he could be the lead in Midsomer Murders.

Just shows an amazing lack of awareness, even for liberal democrats, Davey’s damaged and he’s got nothing to offer in the way of gaining new support. It’s good for Labour really.

Yeah, as I say upthread, the LibDems do well if they stand to the liberal left of an authoritarian centrist Labour party, and aren’t tainted by Tory coalition.
