He’d be off TV for two weeks? that’s kinda normal isn’t it? the next PPV isn’t until February.

Also Kenta lives in LA and often comes over to the Dojo so not that unrealistic. They have guys travelling between the two sites a lot at the moment so not really that convinced that flying to and from Florida-Japan-Nevada makes any difference?

Like I’m not against Omega beating Mox, it seems to make sense, it just seems very weird to do it this week unnecessarily, hence my suspicion.

I do also hope NJPW/AEW get a deal too as I believe/hope it would buck up the ideas of the latter American promotion, but anyone know how long their ROH deal lasts for?

It’s 2 weeks there 2 weeks back isn’t it? That’s what I assumed anyhow. I thought the US NJPW guys all went over as soon as it was safe and haven’t been back, but I don’t watch their US stuff. If not you’re right - a fortnight isn’t so bad. I’m just pleased there’s a non-PPV world champ match where the finish isn’t obvious.

Pretty sure the RoH/NJPW thing ended in tears, but again I could be wrong. I don’t think there was any exclusivity deal - Khan has been moaning that AEW haven’t had any of their wrestlers over which wouldn’t make sense if it couldn’t be done.

guess the U.S stuff might have been pre-recorded right enough, not entirely sure. Even so, a month still isn’t that long, Moxley’s been off TV that long before.

I mean all y’all seem to be assuming the finish because of Wrestle Kingdom making it v obvious?

Watched a show last night where Sam Tarley played a young Les Dawson.
Was quite good.

Mostly due to Covid stuff though. They like to keep the champ around wherever possible. Having him missing to pop over to another company for a couple of shows is fine - any more makes it look like twisted priorities. I mean I wouldn’t mind - they could maybe have a women’s title main event or two in the meantime thunderbirdslaughing.gif

We’re just theorising. This is what I think is going to happen. Unlike Mox/Archer or Mox/Kingston where I’d have happily bet a vital or organ or two on the outcome.

Well one is, “our champ literally can’t be here” and the other is “our champ has better things to do than be here.” AEW are pretty relaxed on letting their guys out to do other stuff but there has to be a line somewhere. It remains to be seen where Khan draws it - I’m assuming a month might be more than he’d be willing to stomach. He has been moaning about the one sided nature of the NJPW/AEW relationship so maybe if he gets something in return maybe that’ll sway him.

I have no idea tbh, just merrily speculating.

He’s been talking tougher recently. Remains to be seen whether it turns into anything He can’t be fully laissez-faire forever - I’m intrigued to see how he handles things when he has to make a tough call. He’s had a pretty charmed run so far (if you ignore the whole global pandemic thing).

Could simply book around it by having Moxley win in another brutal match and then just have him in filmed backstage/elsewhere segments during his recovery if they want to keep him on TV as champion and allow the Japan trip.

Shortly after I’d done speculating last night it was reported all over the place that Meltzer is saying the result of the match has no bearing on whether Mox will be at Wrestle Kingdom. But who you gonna believe - the Meltzman or your ol’ buddy colossalhorse? Eh?!

I can still see the title changing hands but I’m not sure which way it’s going to go.
