Yeah, yeah. I know. But I was REALLY looking forward to it.

I haven’t really got beef with them and I’m looking forward to the new album.

Primavera was a good still listen to that mix every now and again (the bloke who has the visa issue was in the press photo then never seen or heard of again).

Saw the live show in Manchester it was actually quite well done or as well done as it possibly could be (although the modular documentary footage from Since I Left You suggested something better). Think that was about 6 months after they started doing the live shows so they had probably got better. Spank Rock wore a brilliant jacket.

Wildflower was very good (though maybe it didn’t help that the first song they released from it was maybe the weakest song on the album)

Yeah, when I saw the footage of the premier it looked like a good show with a good few teething problems, sure they tightened it up. Would have liked to have caught it. Primavera was fun and it was just great to have a collective “welcome back” party.

Yeah it was a welcome back party wasn’t it? It was literally the same day (or day after) Frank Sinatra dropped

Think that’s a fun track, in hindsight, but almost everyone hated it at the time. Remember listening to it in my flat at Priamvera and it pretty much killing all my mates’ hype for the album dead.

Me too. I loved the track when I first heard it. Think its because it wasnt the sound collage people were perhaps expecting and were worried the record would just be a mid tempo hip hop record.

In context of the album it totally works better than a single though, it also sounded fantastic LOUD in the middle of that DJ set

I didn’t hate it like everyone else, but wasn’t bowled over. Ultimately, I still think both DB and DOOM could have delivered much better verses than they did.

Should probably have eased people in with a track like Subways tbh

Literally had the exact same experience… remember someone saying ‘are they doing… electro-swing?’

Agree with everyone saying that the DJ set was great fun and Wildflower was wayyy better than I expected. Looking forward to the new one and hopefully some live shows!

Thought they had issues clearing samples with the first album too though. Heard it originally had Beatles and Jimi Hendrix on it

Yeah the original has been floating round for years has a few different bits. It has also been changed during some represses with samples being taken out down the years I beleive.

Obligatory Saturday Night Inside Out what a tune as well can’t believe I forgot that.

Frankie Sinatra is an awesome track!

I think Frankie Sinatra was a lot better when listened to as part of the album rather than as a stand alone track

I have this

which is basically a mix CD of the first album with Dylan, Beatles, Hendrix etc tracks interpolated. It is incredibly good.

I think people were worried about the potential stylistic shift it indicated more than disliking the song. When the rest of the album took a more collage of sound that people expected they probably found it more palletable

Could it possibly be a sort of acronym for the new record?
