Just had ours through so thought it was time to get the ball rolling on this.
What you having?
- Parsnip and apple soup with chive oil
- Smoked salmon with celeriac remoulade
- Game terrine with redcurrant jelly
- Roast turkey with stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes & gravy
- Fish pie with salmon, smoked hake & pollock with cheesy mash
- Winter vegetable and green lentil crumble
- Warm Christmas pudding, brandy sauce & ice cream
- Chocolate & raspberry tartlette, vegan chocolate ice cream
- Real vanilla créme brulee with shortbread
Feels very weird to have colleagues that I don’t detest the thought of seeing socially for once.
Probably eat a takeaway on Teams again.
Just like to say I don’t like parsnip and won’t be having the soup and resent it as the only vegie option.
“Winter vegetable and green lentil crumble”. For Christmas. I’d be handing in my notice tomorrow.
What are you complaining about, menu clearly states there is bread and butter available
This that place in Totnes at the roundabout? We keep meaning to go there and somehow never make it.
That’s the one! Haven’t been for ages but it’s normally really good. I hear they have some good beers on tap too
Totnes Brewing Co.? Excellent.
Disgusting. They’re pretty good actually and so are New Lion
Some kind of soup for starter I think
The main sounds awful - aubergine and mozzarella. I don’t like aubergine and not having the mozzarella so that’ll be fun.
Not sure if there’s a dessert I can have.
£25 cheers, money well spent
Sixth year in a row at this restaurant
- Christmas pudding
- Creme caramel
- Ice cream
the main course options are all shocking on yours, funky, sorry to say.
Got to admit I hate Christmas Party menus and Christmas dinner tbf always absolutely terrible and you long to have something off the normal menu that they are serving to the table next to you.
Oh I know. I like fish pie and I like a roast dinner but they’re really uninspiring on a party menu. And as for that vegetarian option.
pay through the teeth to eat badly cooked turkey basically.
there’s a reason no one eats turkey at any point other than Christmas - its just roast chicken but bigger.
the vegetable crumble did it for me. I’ve had a vegetable crumble before, and it was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten.
i’m buying a waitrose big beef wellington this year for xmas dinner, but with all the trimmings my family will eat with the turkey. feels so liberating. genuinely dread xmas lunch because turkey is a bad meat to eat imo.
next year I will cook myself a steak dinner, but gotta ease in slow like.
Jfc, places still do foie gras?
Will just be happy if there’s a vgn option on each course tbh.
Does my head in where there’s a main labelled vgn but either no starter or dessert.
