This is cool. Not seen it before. GBV, dEUS, Beck et al. at Reading 95:
Iām enjoying Earful Oā Wax - itās prompted me to go back to Not In My Airforce which Iām really digging
His enthusiasm for all things Bob-related is amazing, isnāt it? As @Fintans_Cat stated, the whole blog is a wormhole & really makes one appreciate what Bob has achieved over the years.
I did find the Cash Rivers & the Sinners section very amusing, however: just an endless stream of incredulous 1/5ās
Iāve still not ventured into the Cash Rivers stuff. Someone posted a track earlier itt and I thought it was pretty good - totally get the impression thatās not typical.
Iām only just getting a handle on the Pollard solo oeuvre tbh!
The Cash Rivers stuff is basically just Bob & his hungover mates mucking around improvising comedy C&W songs on a rainy Saturday morning, completely knockabout stuff which isnāt even on any streaming platforms officially.
this is an all-time P4K review, on the topic of Bob at his most, ah ⦠indulgant
Ah - great video. I was at this and clearly remember Bob showing the crowd the 20+ song set list they were going to cover in their 30min slot. It was amazing: blew my 17yr old mind. Good times!
Woah amazing. Did they play on the main stage or in one of the tents?
It was the larger tent. Stupidly small crowd - I think most people were off watching Courtney Love on the main stage. Someone has uploaded the actual audio of the gig to Youtube! Looks like 15 songs and 38mins - wasnāt too far off!
If Game Of Pricks is your second song of the set, yer too good.
This a great document. First UK show tooā¦
At least eight 10/10 tracks there
Wow - didnāt realise it was their first UK show! Great setlist - remember hoping they were going to play āWished I Was Giantā but was really happy with everything else. Peak classic era!
Really wish Iād seen em round then. They played again in '99 I think, but I didnāt go to Reading til 2000.
Yes - saw them again at the Garage in Highbury in 1996ā¦Crazy gig: Bob turned up on stage with a couple of buckets of beer. Shouted out a request for one and he duly obliged. There wasnāt a bottle opener and I managed to open it using my teeth. Sir Bob was impressed!
Setlist:
v jealous
checking old setlists, they played the UK more than Iād expected given his dislike of flying
is funny seeing that setlist with them being in the relatively ānormalā mode of playing tracks from 7 albums rather than the 15 albums we got
Well, at least he had the courtesy of emptying the can before hurling it I supposeā¦
Heās still got that throw
