I do the same, I think it’s about two minutes

I just got the manual out. Mine stops buzzing for a split second every 30 seconds to tell you to brush a different area. And then stops entirely after 2 minutes. Thanks Colgate. Tholgate.

Yeah, they might say that in the manual, but it’s still impossible to know for sure.

Is it better to brush after you’ve eaten or before? I can never remember.

Before

Tell you one thing for free, if you’ve recently been drinking acidic drinks, you might want to consider just mouth washing, as the acid might have softened you enamel and brushing could well do more harm than good, or mostly good but more harm than you’d like. Not advice I’ve been told directly , but advice I’ve heard, second hand, from a very trustworthy sauce.

I have had this advice directly from a dentist (in relation to fruit juices)

wow, no

top tip get stoned first and you can stand there giggling/marvelling at how nice brushing feels for a good 5-10 minutes

It’s highly recommended for people who are on e.g. SSRIs or other medicines (or have conditions/disorders) that can cause dryness of the mouth. Lucky few of us have both anxiety which can cause dryness of the mouth AND take medicines for it that can also cause dryness of the mouth!! What a way to live.

(I sometimes get special mouthwash for dry mouth, but I don’t like the flavour much and normal mouthwash still works as a lack of saliva will weaken the enamel or something, I’ve had pharmacists explain this to me several times but I never remember the specifics)

Interesting, never knew that

I use mouthwash before brushing, figure it helps for the tongue and gums and that, then brush and leave the fluoride to do its thing.

Nice idea
