I don’t think (hope?) any complaints are because they’ve been in a soap. True of the likes of Guy Pierce isn’t it? The point is if they’re only known for soaps and/or (Dyer) being a bit of a ridiculous personality.

I don’t think so, though I’d say TV has been an actor’s medium a bit longer than it has been a director’s one (which probably only happened in the last 5 or so year tbh with things like True Detective, where one director gets a whole season to work with)

Can you name any TV directors off the top of your head? I don’t think I can and I’d guess that’s true for most of us, whereas at least we can name TV dudes.

There were some like David Fincher and Jane Campion who had their TV shows listed under them for voting. I think Top of the Lake won as most liked for JC?
