Real mixed bag, this lad. Love Memories of Murder and Parasite. The Host is good fun. Okja was weak and I hated Snowpiercer. Hated it hated it hated it

I had high hopes when Bong Joon-Ho, Park Chan Wook and Kim Jee-woon all got shots at making movies in Hollywood but none of them really transitioned all that well. Okja was a bit rubbish, Snowpiercer interesting but a bit all over the place, The Last Stand just about functional. Only Stoker was much cop imo and thatā€™s far from Chan-Wookā€™s best. Iā€™m glad theyā€™re all back working in Korea now (though Jee-woon doesnā€™t seem to have really recovered).

I liked The Chaser, as blumminā€™ grim as it was, but I havenā€™t seen The Wailing or The Yellow Sea yet. Theyā€™re on my catch up list; Iā€™ve heard really good things about both.
