Small Gods was a particularly eye-opening one for me, so clicky-click on tha

Nearly voted for old Tel but didn’t in the end. Fantastically funny, clever, a great satirist. Some great characters Vimes and the squad, Vetinari - and of course Death.

Think a lot of his books don’t really hold together though. Still; a good egg. Surprised he didn’t do better.

can’t remember which ones I’ve actually read so voted for a random one (the one with the best name?)

the poll is going to be innaccurate!!!

Such a lovely man. Only read a couple but filled with the humour and intelligence you’d expect. Pisses all over the Potter universe.

I thought I’d read quite a few Discworld books when Pratchett first burst on to the scene, but looking at his list of books it doesn’t seem that many and 1983 seems too long ago, so maybe I came to them later. Definitely read The Color Of Magic, The Light Fantastic and The Hogfather.

Anyway, not the sort of thing that stayed with me, what with shying away from wizards and magic and all that stuff. But I liked it at the time.

Oh, also - when I was a child - I came up with my own fantasy series called ‘Cubeland’ because I was so original

books that are too long are also bad (i mean this sincerely)

didn’t know this!

do you mean all books over a certain length are bad or books that are long but don’t do anything with it?

It’s properly weird but I love it.

Having lots of ideas is fine, shoehorning them all together even if they don’t fit is bad practice.

I’m going to say all. If you can’t tell a good story in under 300 pages you should get a better editor.

I will not be justifying this opinion in any way.
