I didn’t vote for Poe but could’ve done, what a lad, true hysterical gothic nonsense, and let’s not forget he not only wrote the first modern detective story, it has the best solution of any detective story ever written.

I read like all of Kerouac when I was 17 then never read any again. Remember basing a lot of my university admission interview around the Dharma Bums. Christ. Should probably revisit at some point.
