personally, I’m firmly in the camp of “I couldnae gie two hoots what the objective critical consensus on artwork x is, if i think it’s fantastic it’s fantastic and if i think it’s shite it’s shite.” Whether something is objectively good or shite is a completely different debate, and on the whole, not one I’m particularly bothered about…

sleep well

it used to be O’Neills. It was quite good for football, for big games it would have spaces. Dog and Partridge is my fave pub there though. Ah I miss the pub

I’m sure from google maps its some weird cocktail bar I’ve never seen anyone in now

I agree!

I’m not really talking about like critics though.

I personally think spaceman is not “good.” But I like it. It makes sense to me!

I use “guilty” very loosely in the phrase. I don’t feel bad at all really for liking it! It’s just that I know I probably shouldn’t… :joy:

I’ve been in the Dog and Partridge a few times after playing footy on Mondays, was alright

tarnished a bit by watching some of a United Wolves game there, though

re: Stokers

make yer mind up, Google Maps

(I also miss the pub)

they put a Facebook post up saying it;s closed for good the other week, boooooo

fuck

lots of places doing that

wonder where will actually be left when pubs are allowed again?

luckily most of my regular haunts seem to be still around so hopefully they hold out a few months more

what are your main haunts, then?

I just tended to follow my friends’ instincts

In Didders, Dog and Partridge and also quite like Saints and Scholars. In town, usually Gasworks near Home

Saints & Scholars… always assumed that was too posh for a prole like me. looks nice, tho.

been Gasworks a few times after watching films with pals… felt like the beer was often stale or maybe they needed to clean the pipes, but it was spacious

you ever been to the Parrs Wood? quite like that because it’s right near where I would normally play footy and it’s dead nice inside.

Hello

So I paid for starz play on Amazon so I could watch Halloween 4 and 5. Turns out it meant I could watch the High Fidelity tv series which I’ve managed to do in one day.

Now I’m watching the Rosemary’s baby tv series which I vowed I never would because it looked terrible…but well, here we are…

Im 15 mins in and its all wrong but I will undoubtedly watch the entire thing.

Hiii DiS, that is all my excitement for the day.

oooh no Saints and Scholars isn’t posh in the slightest! It’s a tad pricy but it’s very down to earth, it’s run by like an 80 year old bloke who gives out free food and stuff, it’s nice in summer

I love Gasworks cause it has the perfect music. great mix of stuff. last summer when lockdown was eased me and a mate went for a drink and ended up there hours later, burnt from the sun just having a great time

I have been to Parrs Wood but not for aaaages, it changed so it didnt show footy anymore so I haven’t been since I’m afraid
