The Star Feminine Band is a truly bad name, imho
Sounds exactly like a Go! Team song and it’s a lot of fucking fun. Star Feminine add a lovely little shot of joy to it.

picked up The Scene Between on CD today, as I don’t think I know it at all. Also hadn’t heard about this, somehow:
Parton expresses how he wished to avoid having any high-profile guest appearances on the album … “I figured that the last two records were getting overshadowed, at points, by namedroppy features" … Instead, he chose to scout out a collective of relatively unknown vocalists, a process which included putting out open calls on the Drowned in Sound message board.

Definitely not the bassist - they’ve been through a few but most recently changed during the Semicircle tour - they’ve had a few women playing bass over the years, but current one is a guy.
Only lead vocalist they’ve had is Ninja, so if they somehow recruited her through DiS then yeah, she’s still part of it.

Enjoying the new one. They’ve really honed their sound and it shows.
Something quite funny about how they sound like nobody else really but their albums are all fairly similar. Unique yet predictable.
