What a lovely series it’s been to watch during lockdown.
Serena was a worthy winner, but Raph was definitely our favourite.

Such a lovely show isn’t it. Joe Lycett is so suited to this format, especially with Esme and Patrick joining in with his silly jokes. Out of all the shows that are based around this format, the team are way above anyone else. (Did you watch ‘All that Glitters’? Yikes)
Raph was our favourite too but Serena deserved to win
I really hope that they stick with the tone it has now - minimal manufactured tension and not too many instances of contestants chosen for their ability to wind people up.

Mrs F is friends with a jeweller who was really disappointed with it. An object lesson that you need to pick the judges wisely. Having one whose schtick is “I’m a really dour person with a monotone voice” doesn’t really cut it. I feel sorry for Katherine Ryan, who seems to get the blame for these misfires, but I really don’t think she’s ever the weak link, just doing the best with what she’s got.
Yeah I was looking forward to it as it was filmed just around the corner from me and I do usually like Katherine Ryan but there was no rapport there at all. I think it took a while for them to actually release it and do wonder if they were holding it back because they knew it would be a flop or had to really edit it to get a workable show
I thought Katherine was a little weak but can imagine you would be if you’re getting nothing from the judges at all.
We saw Esme Young as we cycled through Arnold Circus this afternoon.

Just watched today’s episode
Got a bit obsessed with the fabric of the dress Annie was wearing and had to instagram stalk her to find out where it was from but it was 1970s vintage apparently

Found myself scrubbing through episodes this season a bit more than I used to unfortunately, but still enjoyable and a good selection of contestants.
Esme and Patrick remain some of the best/most constructive judges on telly, too.
