Was pissing myself in the exam episode of them walking to school, someone asking Neil if he brought his kit then running home, then later on in a montage there’s just a throwaway shot of him doing a drill in his vest and pants
Not had a drink all weekend and I’m sat reposting my favourite Inbetweeners bits in 2025. Might go to the pub
Was pretty similar to my teenage years too - sixth form at least. We wanted to be skins but we were more the inbetweeners. Could basically even name each characters real life counterpart among my friendship group.
Which one were you most like (obviously Simon but anyway)
- Simon
- Will
- Neil
- Jay
I have been directly compared to Simon
And also James from off of Derry Girls fwiw
My friend who had only been in the UK for less than a year at that point
“I think there’s just something about English men called James”
Would like to see Joe Thomas in more things
He’s very good at playing a specific type of anger
JUST FUCKING WORK YOU STUPID FUCKING THING
“That’s a hat-trick! Fuck off!”
IM GONNA FUCK YOUR FUCKING FANNY OFF YOU TWAT
Somehow never seen any of this, despite being aware of it and thinking it sounded like it would be my kind of thing. Would usually expect to just catch something like that channel surfing or on streaming at some point but that just doesn’t seem to have happened here, just occasional clips on social media. Still think of it as a new show as a result, when it’s probably long finished. Can’t believe a thread about something I haven’t watched is making me feel so old…
It’s funny, and agree that it’s definitely a depressingly realistic portrayal of male friendship.
Disagree that it’s particularly stood the test of time though. Not really their fault as it was reflecting the era it was made and the characters are meant to be flawed, but there’s a lot of homophobia and disabilism in it and it put me off sticking with it when I rewatched it a few years back.
Less importantly, the constant call-backs to what had happened earlier in a 20 minute episode were really annoying
Saw the second film last night. Awobabobbob might be the best joke they’ve done
