Nice one!
so bloody glad you reminded me. cheers mate!! all sold out now. maybe got the last two thanks to you
Happy to help
Bloody love Jazz CafĆ©. And love that itās become the go-to venue for rap acts of yore. Saw London Posse there the other night. Always such a good atmosphere.
Aye, itās a great place. Canāt wait for this, should set my Roots live experience to rights after the disappointing Brixton Academy experience
When was that? I havenāt seen them in years. Since they were still touring with Rahzel in fact! Must be late 90sā¦
Couple of years ago. Was so hyped for it despite knowing what a shithole Brixton Academy is, they were good but the sound was just awful.
Ah right. Sound is decent in Jazz CafĆ©. Well, itās tiny so that helps obviously.
Canāt wait. Love that itās only a few weeks away as well, big fan of gig announcements that arenāt like three months in advance of the show.
Same.
Rooting around in my box of old tickets and foundā¦
No year, but pretty sure it was 97.
Nice! Fuckinā Ā£12.50 those were the days. Literally Ā£50 for this oneā¦
Yeah, I saw that. And Ā£90 for VIP! Which Iām guessing means sitting upstairs where you HAVE to order a meal. Would like to see them again, and Jazz Cafe would be perfect, but I snoozed and I loozed.
Feel itās worth it. This is gonna be the real deal. Looks like a long set too!
Canāt wait.
Well that was fucking incredible. Only complaint is that their catalogue is so deep that in a couple of hours thereās so much Iād still want to see them play in that venue with that sound. Otherwise, flawless. Youāre going to have a blast @anon5266188
Canāt fucking wait! What kind of a setlist was it? Career spanning?
Heaviest on Things Fall Apart but yeah career spanning. A fair amount of jamming and covers too but thatās really an integral part of who the Roots are now and theyāre so great at it. Donāt want to make any spoilers in case itās a similar set (though presume theyāll switch it up) but yeah, really brilliant
