I forgot all about the sudden unexplained saccharine theme tune too.

The soundtrack to the series is a huge part of what makes it so good. Good work Max Richter.

It feels like everything was left so fucked last season that they needed that little respite episode to come back (though having the guilty remnant bombed to resolve that scenario was a bit meh, I’m hoping that gets more significance later). That first episode was almost like a darker spinoff of Modern Family or something. That second episode though. The actress who plays Nora is amazing, and seeing how she’s come further with her grief but still is by far from over it was a great way to burst that ‘everything is fine now’ bubble.

ahhhhhhhhhh

This show continues to widen the gulf between itself and all other tv.

We are truly blessed.

All the Australian references are surprisingly spot on, right down to the product placement which would be weird if it wasn’t the actual brand (Auspost, Telstra). When TV shows take the time to get those sorts of things right it’s just so satisfying.

The British equivalent would be something like if there was a scene in London and Kevin went to get a sandwich from Boots, but the person he was with told him he might as well get a meal deal with that sandwich, because he was getting one of the expensive sandwiches anyway and it barely cost any more.

Argggghhh.

I need to watch this tonight after I see my daughter. Was too tired last night.

Anyone listen to Watching The Leftovers podcast from Bald Move?

okay here are bits I want to talk about, and I guess I’m only really talking to @saps & @ma0sm here - hey guys
so the question that carrie ‘fails’ on - she gives the opposite answer the guy in who self immolated in the desert - do we think there is no right answer? I think I buy that more than it being something to do with the baby at the bus stop

is mark linn baker in on the scam or has he actually been vaporised?

also do we think that the ‘explosion’ that has all the planes grounded has something to do with the guy at the airport who was being dragged away?
Ok, I’ll wait.

I’m very excited.

Have loved this season so far.

I think if it keeps this level of quality it will easily be the best tv I’ve ever seen.

Remarkable given how the first season was just a fairly good watch.
Perhaps it’s your reaction to the question that counts? Perhaps they thought she was pregnant, there was certainly a lot about babies in this episode.

When we saw the guy set himself on fire in the outback I wondered if they just randomly refused some people so that it would look like less of a scam from the outside. People might then ask why a scam would refuse to take money from people and be more convinced of its legitimacy. But I don’t think it’s that anymore.

We still don’t know if there’s a machine for sure but the things that the negative female doctor said made me more convinced that there is.

The whole getting in the box thing was super creepy. That could so easily be the end of the line for a victim of the scam.

My feeling right now is that there is a machine and that MLB has gone through it (or been disintegrated).

No idea about the explosion right now. I haven’t seen the extended trailer which apparently features someone with their finger on a button have you? Might seek it out now.
The first trailer with practically no spoilers.

I love the song they chose for this. It works thematically but I think it’s also a message from Lindelof to the fans who fear that he and the team might fuck up the final season of this near perfect show.

This trailer features sequences from episodes beyond no. 4 so watch at your peril.

I forgot that when they’rehaving sex in the bathroom they cut to the ‘mother and baby’ picture on the wall. and then kevin says to her later about wanting a baby! so my guess is she is pregnant

I wept. So good, great series. The penultimate episode was a stunner, too.

Hear absolutely great things about this. Love Lindelof, sounds exactly up my street… Have a couple of people telling me I’d love it

Two episodes in though and not finding it massively captivating. Really not intrigued by any of the characters/cast, and even most of the early threads where i’m not entirely sure what’s going on, but not really in a good way where I care about finding out. Are there any twists/moments/developments early on that’ll get me more hooked?
