Wait, isn’t the Yoda baby Yoda? Or is it Yoda’s baby or one of Yoda’s species’ baby? I assumed this was the past and that was Yoda but have no idea of the chronology of this series. What is a Yoda? A shaved wookie?

It’s set post return if the jedi

They should rename it return of a jedi since it didn’t really pan out well after that

And before or after the new films? 50 year old baby leaves some ambiguity.

I don’t like to think of Yoda having sex.

Before.
Set 5 years after Return of The Jedi so about 15 years prior to The Force Awakens.
As the expisode showed theres still some remnants of the Imperials but they state that imperial credits are worthless since the empire fell.
Yoda was still leaping about doing lightsabre battles at 900 years old so presumably for that species a 50 year old baby is plausible.

Breastfeeding and child care must be a fucking nightmare though!

I was just watching the robot

Well you enjoyed yourself and thats the main thing.

Yeah, that crossed my mine too - would make Yoda a massive hypocrite though, so would they want to ruin such a beloved character?*

*Luke wasn’t ruined in TLJ, they simply picked a path of his character. Doing this for Yoda would be a massive shock.

Yoda: Im going to sit on Dagobah and let the Empire fuck things up rather than work with Obi Wan in helping the Rebllion
Jedi are notorious for being hypocrites I guess.

TFA is 30 years after ROTJ, so Mandalorian is much closer to the original trilogy time-wise.

The baby, I think, will either be Yoda’s offspiring or just a baby of the same species. Seeing as Lucas has never even revealed the name of Yoda’s race, there is a lot of room for either avenue to be explored.

Reckon it’s Yaddle’s kid.
That’ll cover why she was in the jedi council in TPM and then went awol.
Also its never safe to assume but if Yodas species are so rare, then the only two weve seen before now have been powerful jedi masters. Whole race might be a GBOJ?

To be fair, Obi Wan watching over Luke for 20 years wasn’t exactly exactly ‘pro-active’ in stopping The Empire. What if Skywalker got run over by a speeder when Obi Wan wasn’t looking?

I just meant all the stuff Yoda spouts off to Anakin in the prequels, but then he’s been having a secret love affair…?

Yoda and Yaddle sitting in a Force-sensitive tree…

That’s why the doctor wants the baby recovered alive - he wants to do a midicholrian count on it!

Obi-wan: looks at R2 who he’s known for fucking years Nah havent a clue who this prick is mate!

Also his whole “certain point of view sctick” also he was romantically involved with a mandalorian lady but sticks to the the jedis arent allowed love and kids stuff.
Hypocrite prick!

edit: aye i mean obi and yoda should been helping the rebellion from the get go and gathering up any scattered jedi

Yep, i said up thread they should bring up his midichlorian count just to fuck with everyone.

Yoda to Yaddle: “Would you like to see my little green lightsaber?”

I really want to watch this.

I don’t understand why I can’t watch this legally.

I can’t figure out how to watch it illegally because I’m crap with technology. Torrent. VPN. Card details. Meh…

THANKS DISNEY.

I always liked to think yoda was just how people looked when the love for 900 years

When yer man said “I like those odds” I nearly shat myself out of boredom.

Hard agree with @UncleRetrospective. This is fine, and there’s some stuff to like, but it’s so shallow. Really wish they’d chosen a different approach for the main character who is very unimaginative. The writing was fairly clunky, especially the exposition.

Felt like it was trying to emulate star wars rather than actually be star wars. I know that criticism is lazy and was said of the new trilogy but I think this is a stronger case of that.

Actually fuck it I hated this. Hope other people get something out of it.

Couldn’t find the opening episode anywhere but watched a recap and episode 2. Feels like a cross between the boring bits of Westerns I don’t like and the REALLY boring bits of Star Trek The Next Generation I don’t like.

I have very much enjoyed both episodes so far.
Oddly I found the 2nd a bit trickier to find than the first.
