My friend watched it dubbed in French and said when the Mask said his famous line “Smokin’” it was dubbed as “Splendide!”

This made me chuckle and I thought we should watch it. In English though

Surely one of Chuck Russell’s finest works

I loved the cartoon series adaptation when I was a kid.

Tried watching the film for the first time this year and found it unbearable, lasted maybe 20 minutes

Saw someone describe The Mask as a superhero film recently and I’d never really thought of it like that but I guess it is.

The Blob remake is his masterpiece.

I’m being serious.

I can still remember seeing ‘The Mask’ in the cinema and her first scene in the film being quite the moment for 12 year old me…weirdly, I never really fancied her in anything else after that though.

Impure and problematic posting, not what I was hoping for when I kicked off this innocent celebration of one of the great people-pleasing pictures of the nineties.

However, I will say this: perhaps it’s a symptom of the grot threads having been made into an elitist closed shop. Look what you’ve done, glitterati of the drowned in sound forums. You’ve encouraged the defilement of my lovely thread about The Mask (1994)
