Got to say, I dislike every song in there. Jolene is the only one I wouldn’t be like ‘oh god’ if it came on
Actually I looked at it again and it’s not that good
God the 80s was terrible for music wasn’t it. That 90s list is a wild ride! Lots of songs that don’t exist in recent years too.
First single I ever bought (on cassette, on holiday in France)

cba 2020s
Normally I push back against this view of the 90s being exceptionally great for music, but from these options it’s miles ahead. Perhaps it was just the decade where alternative and mainsteam crossed over the most?
Actually the 60s selection is alright too.
yeah i would happily listen to that 90s list anytime. Minus that some are obviously way overplayed, there’s some decent variety - and has by far the best rap representation, which surprises me a bit given how popular it is over the last 10 years or so
Yeah I was thinking exactly the same RE rap
The 00s were such a disgraceful decade.
All of the 00s songs on the list are absolutely shit.
Yeah bizarre, one of the worst Beatles songs as well
surely you’ve heard their one song
Oh don’t get me wrong, I was in my teens for the majority of the 00s and had a fantastic time. Its broader cultural footprint isn’t the best though.
Never knew that song was by them or called that, but yeah heard it a hundred times probably
Mainly voted for Party in the USA to stop Mr Brightside winning
Just listened and yeah I have heard that. Just so bland and generic I wouldn’t have picked it out from a hundred other songs tbh. Maybe it’s one of those songs that got imitated a lot. Also in my head Goo Goo Dolls were post punky so I must have them mixed up with a different band.
Dresden Dolls?

The Toy Dolls?
