In many ways I’m supremely lucky to be able to call 2022 the worst year of my life. Among a mental health breakdown which lead to a psychotic episode among other very very very unpleasent things I managed to come out the other end very much alive and as of about 3 days ago with the emotional spectrum, concentration, motivation and cognitive ability I dont actually think I’ve had since i were a wee teenage boy so for all the shit I may have actually come out good n proper? For those of you who don’t know I’ve been struggling with various forms of depression since around 2009 with each year having at least 2 significant episodes and ive never been quite right since then to be honest and it lead to me letting down many people. So to all that I’m happy to publically anounce that I have my 2023 diary and intend to fill it and do roght by people this year to make up for the little shit I became toward the back end of 2022 and I’m very excited to be that person again. This isnt grandstanding and I’m very sober. I feel very different than I did. Im no longer grasping for little victories u feel engaged and ready to get on with life and the timing couldn’t be any better. Happy new year you filthy animals ill see you at the bar with a shot of tequila and a hug waiting for you all x

I am so relieved to read this message from you. As someone who is good at interpreting the use of language, the contrast between this and your recent posts is immeasurable. Keep going. We’ve also had a really shit year but have ended it really nicely. Let none of us be under any illusions - life chucks rubbish stuff at us and there will surely be some in 2023. But look at all the bits that are good or great and remember… if we get through each bit of nonsense, there will also be more bits like this, and they’re worth being here for. x

I remember your posts from a few months ago where you seemed to be struggling and was quite worried for your wellbeing, but it appears you’ve got all the help you needed, and have made absolutely wonderful progress to come out on the other side with success and optimism.
