The concern and upset that this process is causing millions of ordinary, decent people like this is a total disgrace and makes me angrier than pretty much anything else associated with total shitshow. I can’t imagine what this mean spirited nationalistic nonsense must be putting your family through.

it’s such a colossal change that one of the things that really worries me is that i can name a shitload of bad things that are likely to happen, but it would probably only cover a fraction of the total number of shitstorms we will eventually have to deal with

When I spoke to my Mum last April or so about it she said she was probably going to vote Out (sic) because she thought “we just need to get out and start over again with a blank piece of paper”.

When I spoke to her after the vote she said she’d voted Remain and was very upset by the result because she “spent some time looking into it and was appalled by what they were all saying”.

I voted remain, and the Brexiters I know are generally affluent enough middle class (and disinterested enough in Europe as a holiday destination, etc) that they’ll probably be able to weather the worst impacts of Brexit. So whatever happens, they’ll feel vindicated in their vote. Real shame that our second woman PM had to be as much of a dick as her male counterparts. I couldn’t believe the hypocrisy of her criticism of Sturgeon for ‘tunnel vision’ with regard to Scottish Independence while at the same time being guilty of the exact same with regard to our independence from Europe. Could she not see the similarities?
