watching it now, it’s been a good show so far. best taker match since idk, that hiac with brock I guess? obvs helps having big dog and big mac there to work most of the match so he can just do his spots and then have a rest but still, miles better than we’ve seen out of him in recent years

TV Asahi have told NJPW that Chris Charlton is only allowed to translate, doing full commentary is banned. Which sucks cause he adds so much with his passion and historical context, real dumb call :frowning:

So Wyatt returned by appearing in the ring after the lights went out and attacked Finn Balor. Que underwhelming

And Balor is apparently away for a bit now

After summerslam for 2 months from what I’ve read. So I reckon it’ll be Bray v Balor there and Bray absolutely destroys him. Monster heel built for the Demon Balor to beat at wrestlemania?

Watched Raw live for the first time in 5 years and its ROUGH to watch live.

+The first hour was good, enjoy the AJ stuff right now.
+Bray finally debuted
+The 6 man Tag was great
+This Gif

  • Miz Vs Dolph feud in v2019
  • Cedric Alexander push (hes boring)
  • That womans 4 way elimination was bad and way way way too long. The crowd turned on it pretty bad
  • Bray Wyatt returns by teleporting to the ring, hitting sister Abigail on Finn Balor (nothing ever changes)
  • Seth Rollins vs Brock AGAIN
  • I feel really bad for the live audience watching 5 mins chunks of stalling. It becomes very apparent just how bad this is when watching it live.
  • The main event summbed up my main problem with WWE, only 3 people out of the ten really logically deserved to be there based on recent wins and losses.

Becky now feuding with Hot Blonde #5 I see

Have I missed something and are we in the build up to Survivor Series now, because otherwise that sounds like a ridiculous number of people to put in the ME.

Battle Royal

Ah, the run up to Royal Rumble. Excellent

It was a battle royale to determine the no 1 contender.
It was comprised of
Braun Stroman - Fair enough, he usually wins matches
Roman Reigns - Fair enough, he usually wins matches
Big E Langston - Fair enough, he usually wins matches
Baron Corbin - Dude failed to win the title like 3times in a row
Sami Zayn - Certain this guy has eaten more pins than anyone else in WWE this year
Ceesaro - He literally lost to Alistar Black the night before, who was not in this match.
Bobby Lashley - He was booked like a killer for a week and has since then been destroyed (he got dumped out almost straight away as well)
Rey Mysterio - Lost his last 2 matches in less than 2 minutes
Randy Orton - Fair enough, he usually wins matches… but he hasnt been on tv lately.
There was someone else but I dont remember who

Oh and Raw Reunion is next week which is mostly the usual suspects, a racist hot dog and… Psyco Sid??? Deffo seeking his spot on youtube but not watching anything else

On the left October 2017, on the Right July 2019

wooow

I assume theh qent with the mania graphic for brock because he wasnt there in October

Cant sleep, watching Smackdown

They aren’t booking matches around ad breaks. This is good news.

Smackdown felt like a different show tonight. For better or for worse it felt more like old school weekly TV Programing in a lot of ways. And here’s why

  • Short matches, few definitive endings, lower work rate

  • Focus on story - all the matches here served to set up or advance feuds. Story was the focus - not the wrestling

  • Set up the entire Smackdown half of the Summerslam card pretty much straight away

  • Nothing was given a chance to outstay its welcome

  • More chaoti and felt like wrestlers were being fed less lines/shorter scripts

None of the matches were great, or even particularly good, as an in-ring product it was very standard. But it went by a lot quicker and I came out of the show looking forward to the next months worth of Smackdown. Call me controversial but I like this way of thinking better, not every show needs 20+ min matches because often it’s not called for and the matches are too cold to justify it and PPVs become meaningless.

Ospreay has been cleared for tomorrow’s G1 show

apparently it’s actually this week Heyman and Bischoff have taken the reigns? So that might have something to do with it. But tbh, Smackdown has been the better show for ages
