The Open Championship 2019 thread

The Open goes to Royal Portrush for the first time since 1951 - who are you tipping to win?

I’m going to stick some money on Matt Kuchar. It’s about time he won a major.

Scott or Finau

Royal Portrush looks like a stunning course, so glad it’s back in the open rota.
I fancy Rory, he’s playing well and he’s shot the course record here.
Koepka has been on great form and he’ll fancy his chance, especially with a caddie from that neck of the woods, insider knowledge and all that.

Outside bets for me are Rose and Molinari. Although this could also be one of those Opens where a relative unknown stock 4 good rounds together and wins.

Done my usual £5 each way on Rose at 18/1.

Oh yeah Rahm could be a great shout, has been playing really well of late.

you guys staying up for tee times in a couple hours

I think Phil goes low tomorrow.

Just think too much pressure to perform well with the hometown gets to Rory on Saturday or Sunday.

Long shot to win: Patrick Cantlay

It’s staggeringly beautiful, some of the photos and footage is amazing. Never heard of it before.

That whole North Ireland coastline is, well worth a trip if you can ever get up there

Yeah I’ve actually been up around from Belfast to the Giants Causeway but not that few miles further along. Amazing place

Fucking lovely stuff

The BBC correspondent asked the scorer how many he’d finished the hole in. The scorer had lost count. Ooft

maybe not best to start on a quadruple fucking bogey Rory

It was a 15 for Duval, chaps. A 15.

15 on a par 4 to go 13 over for the round.

Genuinely would back myself to hit less than that even on a world class course

that’s the kind of shite score i’d get

Quite fancy I could putt the whole thing and go under 15.
