Lovely course, lovely weather, lovely golf going on.
This is making me want to move to Kent ffs
I’ve never played a links course, mostly because I can’t imagine how many balls I’d lose in the rough.
If i had 6 blokes dedicated to tracking every shot i hit like these guys i might consider it, but otherwise it’s going to be about 6 lost balls and 12 penalty shot per round isnt it? I lose enough balls on a normal course when i think I’ve hit them down the fairway
DeChambeau is almost the perfect golfer to watch. Almost equally fun watching him boom drives 350 yards down the fairway or hacking around in bushes and scrubland with a sherpa. Assumes he can reach the green with every single shot.
2/3 the way into the bushes on the left
Yep. Played 9 holes a couple of weeks ago - lost 2 balls in light rough just off the fairway. Can only assume they were stolen by squirrels when I was picking up my tee.
I find Morikawa really weird to watch. His backswing looks like I’ve got buffering issues or that they’re doing a slow-mo analysis of his shot.
It’s a good guess, because thats where i usually go.
Today i went into the bunker before the big tree on the right
You’d better not watch Hideki swing then.
Spieths got this
Not so sure, hope so, Oooooo has been threatening to win for a few Majors now.
Every time i see an ousthuizen shot today it is crap but then he saves par
Dunno if this is a good or bad sign probably the former
Cashed out for a very reasonable amount on Friday, I’m fully team Spieth today.
Colin’s got this
Glad Oosthuizen won that Open back in 2010 otherwise all these 2nd/3rd place finishes would be getting cruel by now
Managed to get down on Saturday was pleasantly surprised it was fairly easy to get round the back of the course on a bike. There were probably about 50 other people who had done the same. You could only really see one green (5th, pictured below with Paul Casey) but you were able to get pretty close and none the stewards minded so was pretty good. Can’t complain when it was free.
