All the money’s extra for Stormont to spend, although it’s earmarked in these broad areas.

200m a year (for 2 years) on infrastructure development (including York Street Interchange)
75m a year (for 2 years) on broadband
20m a year (for 5 years) for deprived areas
50m a year (for 2 years) for alieviating immediate health and education pressures
100m a year (for 2 years) for health service transformation
10m a year (for 5 years) for mental health

Think we can all stop saying Labour won the election on a left-wing platform now - these guys are the real winners! And they won by tacking hard to the Christian-reactionary right!

Lessons in there for Corbyn and Labour for sure. Needs to get off the Pyramid Stage and into the chapel IMO.

tories are shit, DUP are even worse, this deal is awful and a terrible idea and it’ll all collapse in about six months, but…

money for NI is pretty nice. weirdly enjoying how much that’s pissing people off.

And with the DUP in charge of it, surely 100% of that money will make its way to all of the worthy causes hitherto mentioned.

hopefully not all of it will go on wood pellet boilers, kerbstone paint and new bowler hats

You don’t get the see the nearest end of the table in that photograph. Here it is…

also wondering when Stormont will actually exist again to spend any of this.

that’s a pretty big election bribe for the NI electorate

grim stuff

The fuck is Stormont?

I think that’s where daenerys is heading at the end of season 6

A slighty fancy manor house.

I know you all know this, but it’s outrageous that the Tories can simply buy guaranteed support for Brexit votes when there isn’t even a plan in place on what they might be voting on. Would be terrific if there was a back-bench rebellion on a key vote while DUP mindlessly supported it.

Are you confusing a quote from Michael Eavis to what Corbyns “nuclear disarmament versus actual policy” thoughts are?

I think this is a very real possibility. With the DUP support, they have a parliamentary majority of 2. Okay, in reality its slightly more because of Sinn Fein not taking their seats etc, but it’s really not going to take a lot of disquiet from one backbench faction or other to bring the house of cards falling to the ground.

I don’t think he is being loud about it is he? He just answered a question from Michael Eavis honestly - “I’ll do it as soon as I can” doesn’t actually make it even a medium priority, let along a high one.

Unless I missed something, ofc.

Guys, I’d like to get some #numbers here

next to Buckingham Palace

I think it’s only fair now that for everyone’s amusement, Theresa May lets the DUP tag along to join in the Brexit negotiations. Would be great fun to see one them butt in while Barnier’s discussing some boring trade tariff to accuse him of sorcery, or something.

Barnett Formula.

It’s about each country getting their fair share of spending allocated to England, England and Wales or GB. This bribe is separate from that as far as I can tell, but no doubt will have implications in the future next time the Conservatives try and shut down demands for more money from the other devolved governments.

Carwyn Jones is up in arms about it and has already released a statement. No one listens to Wales though.
