I’d never read much of her stuff but I figure from a quick google she’s one of these centrist pundits, similar to Hyde, Freedland, Chait, Cohen, etc, people who were maybe edgy for the 1990s/early-00s New Labour/Clinton era but in a post-Iraq/post-recession/Trump world their arses have fallen out and they’re realizing they don’t have “it” anymore, and instead of trying to learn and grow they’re kind of doubling down on the bad takes and reactionary centrism.
Shivers me timbres these people are paid lots of money to be very publicly stupid tho, that coin only encourages them to think they’re the perfectly reasonable moderates the discourse is crying out for.
