We have to convene with them in our office. The whole event is run by a team of posh, white volunteers, who are incidentally, very poorly organised. Not sure why they’re trying to appeal to straight people so much. There was an article in the Guardian about the #loveislove slogan, which had a similar concern that they’re trying to make LGBTQIA people palatable to straight people, which isn’t really the point of pride.

It’s funny because it doesn’t mean gay as in homosexual it means gay as in ‘something generally bad’

should’ve gone with this

I read this as “Love gives hate rubs” Just had images of a big love heart going around giving hate massages to people.

Argh, on a more serious note, this whole thing terrifies me. At my old job a few of my colleagues came up with an idea for a small project, I was involved at a later stage and didn’t really think anything of it until someone pointed out how it was indeed quite offensive and then and only then did I realise “Oh dear god, this is SO offensive…FUCK” and it was scrapped, but ugh… I still cringe so hard that I failed to see it sooner and just because everyone was saying “Oh this is great” I presumed it was fine. Idiot.

Eurgh, “sponsored by Barclays”.

Kind of confused by what exactly this is aiming for. Seems like an exceptionally cackhanded attempted at intersectionality by someone with no real understanding of the term.

Kate Moross (a graphic designer I quite like and is herself a lesbian) said she got offered the job of designing the posters, took one look at the slogans and thought “…no”.

nah not necessarily

what is this I don’t even…

“How do we make Pride posters appear as socially conservative as humanly possible?”

A pride role model who is cis and straight. SO PROUD!

Wow there’s a name I’ve not heard for a long time.

A little while back I went to a exhibition of some of her work. She started off designing a lot of gig fliers for bands like Late of the Pier and it sent me shooting back to my early teens.

Yeah she made a Gay Against You poster for us once (10 years ago!!)

She designed that Cutting Pink With Knives t-shirt that I think you might still have… probably doesn’t fit me anymore.

Is she still dating the guy from the killers?
