This shit is 29 years old! Still sounds like the future to me. Absolutely Banging.
Yep. That album and The Fat Of The Land still sound huge.
They do. I feel Music For The Jilted Generation is far and away their most vital album. It struck a chord with the anit-Public Order Act aiming to stop people having good time. In doing this they brought a whole new fan base in.
They absolutely tore the NME Stage at Glastonbury apart in 1995, playing the same time as Oasis were on the Main Stage, there was only one choice for me. The period between them 2 albums (before they released Fat Of The Land) they were just soaring.
Rarities and unreleased tracks all under one umbrella
It’s called Toys R Us, Toys R Us Toys R Us!
Jilted Generation does a remarkable job holding my attention despite its length.
Listened to it yesterday. Still so good.
Is Their Law the best song to crank in the car? Windows absolutely down
sorry to bump an old thread but I have a question.
- Yes, they have some top spec material as good as their best!
- Yes, but it isn’t as good as Jilted era obv
- I never liked them so their later stuff is ‘just as good’
- My ears are stuffed with condoms and wool
- I don’t mind them but it is appreciably worse
- They became toilet water: the sound
Always outnumbered, never outgunned is a great album.
Got a real soft spot for Invaders Must Die, it’s an absolute cracker!
My son was into dance when he was younger and at the end of term in July each year during primary school they would have a talent show. Every year the same girl would win it. She had singing lessons and would sing in an Ellie Golding type of way. She had the most incredible voice.
My son went to dance classes he was 10 he had been in a show at his dance class. It was like a kind of classical vibe and kind of abstract. Anyway he wanted to perform it at the school talent show.
I was like yeah the moves are great but I’m not sure about the music. Anyway. I introduced him to invaders must die.
That was it! He did the same dance routine but did it to invaders must die and he won the talent show. Absolutely smashed it and finished primary school as the first different winner for 5 years!
I always tell him I was his musical director
