Ailments:

  • Totally blocked ear that fucking kills for about 10 seconds every now and then
  • Pain on the top of my foot when I walk, ongoing issue
  • Random sore and tender bit of my outer lower leg beneath the knee
  • A blue speck on my forehead since this morning, thought it was ink but it’s not, it’s me
  • Depression
  • Slightly shakey legs/feeling of heavyness when I walk
  • Cough that’s lasted a quite long time

For some reason I cannot stand this sort of thing on TV, but I will listen to podcasts that cover this sort of topic. I think it’s maybe a tone thing with TV as a format, because I don’t like sensationalist podcasts either.

Oh, this to the max. I thought it had fucked off a while ago, but it was just a day’s respite between a more normal cough and the lovely variety where you are moving pretty much solid phlegm around. Vile.

I just don’t like deriving entertainment from a thing that happened to my classmate’s dad when I was 6, y’know? Seems… off.

Aria just going home now?

Yeah I had a day off from it and then it came back the following day!??

Yeah, I get that. I don’t know, I’m conflicted about it. Can’t really put it into words. Sorry for the personal pain though.

Nah it’s alright, was too young to understand it really. Classic Airdrie.

It happens all over, a kid who lived down our road who my mum taught did something terrible and I remember walking past his house one morning and seeing one of those forensics tents. Hampshire suburbs. Sadness is universal unfortunately.

My brother had this and the doctor’s advice was to do things to try make it pop. I think it was chewing gum that got it to correct itself in the end.

Much sympathy for multiple ailments of various severity though, rubbish when all these things add up.

Did he try taking a plunger to the side of his head? Because that would have been my first suggestion.

Watching new tricks.

Should go bed. Keep ruminating issues in my head.

Looks like I’m making a cup of tea then

You could put the teabags straight into the kettle, then drink out if it. Save some washing up. For the moment.

He did not try this, but now I very much wish I had suggested it.

While an excellent idea, it’s actually to do with the fact that I always wash up while I make tea, because it’s otherwise lost time that I’m just in the kitchen. Fill sink and put away clean and dry stuff while the kettle boils, wash other things while the tea brews. I am a creature of stultifyingly dull routine

A rigid part of my morning routine is emptying and refilling the dishwasher and wiping worktops while various stages of coffee making are ticking along. I get you.
