These are both inoffesive and listenable. Not sure why people finding so much to say about them and find them so funny - they’re kind of bland synth pop with a semblance of groove.

We’ll all forget about it in a few hours time and move on

I think it is because expectations were so low at this point inoffensive and listenable is actually a pleasant surprise

No I meant more the LOL reactions than the positive ones (as I’ve not seen many of these)

Songs decent, might as well do something different. That last album was them trying to recreate classic Pumpkins and it bombed. I see in the promo for this Billy is already saying " That last album wasnt really an album it was just us fucking around to get a few tracks out THIS is the real reunion album!" So it’s weird after saying that the artwork theme for the new songs are in the same style as the last album with the stupid pretentious name that I can’t be bothered to type.

This song is horrible.

seems a bit unnecessary pitchfork end their article on the two new songs with a link to this, fair enough criticise him when they did the big cash grab reunion tour after saying he never would, but this is completely unrelated, the new songs while not massively original are at least a bit of a departure for them so it really doesnt seem relevant

Looks like his camp aren’t too pleased with the reaction so far. Mods please delete my comments if she signs up to DiS, cheers…

is that the facebook group, what is it like nowadays? used to be awful

I’m waiting to listen until the album comes out, but I’m worried now that it’s going to get scrapped if she’s posting something like this. I know I’m in the minority but I have faith that it’s going to be a very good album. Lots of TFE comparisons are being thrown around, which is encouraging.

I don’t know how to gauge the reaction, it seems fairly positive to me the places I have looked, lots of ‘pleasantly surprised’ vibes, most of the criticisms seem to be from very rockist types who just want guitars.

I don’t really see TFE comparisons beyond it being quite synth heavy, seems darker to me

Who is she?

She’s part of the band

“creative director” for the smashing pumpkins. I know she does a lot of their art, and did the Corgan Ogilala film and is a long time associate of the band, didn’t think she was in them though but that does match the podcast i’m listening to which mentioned her being at a show in a seemingly on stage capacity

I… actually quite enjoyed that? I’ve basically not liked anything since 2007 cos it’s all just been that awful wall of guitar mud stuff that all old rock men end up doing.

If it’s a double album though it’ll almost certainly be rubbish, absolutely no faith he has the skill or quality control these days to pull that off.

So much dad dancing though, eek
