was the door that people weren’t sure about/didn’t think was an obvious choice of single iirc, then bad decisions came a week later and people thought it bumped.
Rick Rubin produced this!
Explains a lot!
This Post Paid For By PROF$.
Think he has produced or a been involved with the last two albums.
I like the new song!!
Amazon listing the album as coming in at a lengthy 28 minutes ![]()
Same length as Nick Drake’s Pink Moon ![]()
Yeah not really sure why the shorter runtime is an issue
Is This It & Room On Fire are 35mins and 32mins respectively. Strokes albums shouldn’t be longer than 40 mins imho.
In any event, it’s just Amazon assuming the other eight tracks are 3 minutes long exactly, a default data filler thing. I’d imagine it’ll be in ITI/ROF territory.
More worrying, is that with the single clocking in at 4:20, we already know that approximately 15.5% of the album is dogshit
they blazed it
Massive fan of the band and will absolutely go in to bat for every album to at least some degree.
I will very much be listening to the album in full when it comes out but… I gave up halfway through this song.
Nothing wrong with using an effect in a way that works for the song but for me that wasn’t the case here.
autotune is barely noticeable compared to some of the times he uses it
DON’T

A COCONUT
alright Mr Monopoly
Don’t hate the new song but it is extremely forgettable
real bad autotune, the track bops along nicely but not keen to spin it again
new abnormal is my favourite strokes album, is that weird
